Monday

Monday, meandering…

Today is Monday, December 13, 2010

I lost Saturday.  Really I mean it–it is gone–bye bye–never was for me.   I got sick Friday evening,  fever, sore throat, tired, headache, the  whole shebang.  So I did the sensible thing and took a hot bath, with bubbles of course, and went to bed at 10pm.

I woke up at 5:30am Sunday.  So I never really lived Saturday, December 11, 2010.   Okay, I did live it– but not consciously.  I did get up twice to go to the bathroom and to take more NyQuil–cherry flavored.  I don’t think I was fully awake those two times so I am not counting them.

I don’t think I have ever slept that long a time before–well maybe once when I was in the hospital. But that doesn’t count because then they thought I was going to go to the big bedroom in the sky so my waking up was a surprise to everyone.  Now back to the present– it is strange to wake up and realize a whole day is missing from your life.  Does that day count?  I don’t remember even dreaming–just a big blank snooze.

I think I should get an extra day tacked onto the end of my life to make up for Saturday.   Think God will go for it?   He has probably already taken the day into consideration seeing as He knows the number of our days. I think I will mention it to Him though–I mean He is a busy guy with everything that’s going on…

  1. I am sure that you will get an extra day, and your body must have really been working hard to heal for that much sleep – Hope you are much improved. Love the snow falling 🙂

One time I put my oldest child down for a nap at about 1pm. She was about 8 months old. I had to keep checking her all night long and until noon the next day when she woke up and was 2 sizes bigger in all her clothes – She did is again in 4th grade and her feet were up 2 sizes…talk about a growth spurt!

Hope you have a wonder full holiday filled with the blessings of the season and good health!

    1. Thanks, Patricia. I feel much better and certainly rested!

With those kind of growth spurts I would be tempted to wake the sleeping child even though as a rule I let sleeping babes sleep.
