Wednesday, smashed to…

brokendish

smithereens;

small fragments, tiny bits or pieces

 as my Ma used to say “smashed to smithereens”

This is March, the month of the Irish,
so all the words are English derived from Irish words.

  1. It’s been donkey’s-ages since I’ve heard that Patricia. Thanks for the reminder. Now, I need to come up with a story so that I can use smithereens! I wonder what role the Smith family played in this? 🙂

  2. I didn’t know it was Irish either but now that I think of it, smithereens sound like it does. We used to say this all the time when I was growing up. Haven’t heard it in a long time. Thanks for the reminder.
