Flight

Sitting tall and regal in his conservative banker’s grey he is on the hunt for a new conquest.  Eyes alert and searching the horizon for the one perfect challenge to satisfy his hunger.  Patient and steady, using the tools of instinct and experience as a compass, he watches and waits.  Spying one who meets all his requirements of the ideal candidate to feed his appetite; he gets ready to hook his prey.  And the grey hawk takes flight.

  1. Wow! What a great first 5SF offering, Patricia! This was written so well, powerful in sharp words that matched the spirit of the hunter perfectly. The photo was perfect too. You are a pro at this!

  2. This was really good. I firmly believe that it takes major talent to write flash fiction like these because the author needs to pack so much in so little! 😀

    1. Thank you, Shree. This is my first attempt at this type of writing. It was fun and challenging. I am going to try it again. Stay tuned.

    1. I have a red-tail hawk that comes to visit perching on my balcony railing. I feel quite honored when he graces me with his presence. Thanks for visiting and the comment.
