We have had a lot of rain.
More than usual for this time of year.
The bad about summer rain here is that the humidity is awful, like nearly 100%.
When the temperatures are in the 90* it is just steamy.
The good about the summer rain is that everything is green and lush.
This is the view from my balcony.
Usually there is a bit of brown on the trees because of the heat and dryness.
But because of the rain it is still Spring green out there.
Today, I think that seeing the green makes me believe summer rain is more good than bad.

I wish some of your rain would come our way (south Texas) Patricia. Everything is turning brown and crisp. It’s awful. And the word is that a few of the surrounding towns will run out of water by next week. I just can’t imagine that.
We have years of drought but last year we had rain and now again this year. It is wonderful but I would like it to rain between 11 pm and 6 am. Sort of like Camelot. Scary about the running out of water…makes one think of the need to be wise in how we use our natural resources.
I enjoy the green from your balcony…excellent thoughts on green
Thanks, it is really a lovely view any time of year.
Yes, Patricia — I too love the summer rain and the resulting green. Mostly all the summer rain we get is tropical in nature. We once had 33 inches of water in our house. Not much green was noticed that summer.
..
33 inches of rain IN your house. I would imagine you saw some green mold around and about. I would not be happy with that green.
Hello there Patricia!
I was just staring at my desktop wallpaper – a beautiful picture of waterfalls surrounded by lush green trees. I like looking at pictures of waters and forests, and then I came here. Made me smile ;o)
And you made me smile! Thanks for visiting.
What a beautiful balcony view you have, I am soo envious! I miss the green of my South Dakota childhood summers so much! I know that having green also means humidity and mosquitoes, neither of which I love at all, but I still think I could put up with the discomfort to enjoy such beauty… and a lovely place to walk early on a summer morning before the heat of day. Thank you for sharing this lovely green view with us at Two Shoes Tuesday, you made me smile in remembering how pretty such places can be! I’m glad you’re enjoying more green than usual this year, one can never have too much greenery! 🙂
I do have a beautiful view all year long. Each season has its own beauty. I did not appreciate the sky until I moved to this place high above the trees. It also has its seasonal beauty and is constantly changing. I agree about green…it is my favorite color.
Everything is so dry here. We don’t get rain for months and months and then when we do it isn’t very much.
Have a terrific day and enjoy the green. 🙂
I don’t know where you live but I think it would be hard for this Ohio/SC ditz to live without rain and green leaves. I guess it is all a matter of what you are used to and where home is.
It’s so hot in New York…muggy and sultry, When is the park drawing? Still voting.
Heat in the city is worse than in the country…all that pavement and cement and people. The voting for the Park ends July 26 and the winner is announced July 31. The leaders have over 80,000 votes and we have a bit more than 13,000. A win is doubtful for us but I am still am going to vote!
Awe…so wish you had more votes…such a worthy cause…will keep voting as well..and Tweeting 🙂
‘spring green.’ A perfect description.
So nice to have that green in summer.Unusual for the South.
You do have a nice green view! The rain is wonderful, after last year’s drought. However, it makes mowing the grass a task, and the mosquitoes are plentiful!
Fortunately there are others that cut “my” grass. The skeeters are bad here but, thankfully, not on my balcony.
Looks very lush.
I live in the city and unlike a lot of cities we have many trees. Makes me very happy.
