Thursday, PB&J…

pbj

As I was eating my lunch of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich
my mind started doing its ditzy dance of silly wonderings.

One of the things I wondered was if anyone was afraid
of eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

So off to Googling I went.
Anything you might ever wonder about can be Googled.

There does not seem to be a phobia of eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
but there is a phobia about peanut butter.

Arachibutyrophobia
the fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth

Who knew!

I suppose if you have dentures
peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth could be a problem.
But to the point of phobia?

Well, I do have an unusual fear. A phobia I guess.
I will keep it to myself–for now anyway…It could show up in a post one day.
In fact it probably will.

Anyway, back to the peanut butter phobia.
I feel bad for arachibutyrophobes.
They are missing out on a wonderful sandwich and
peanut butter on toast and *gasp* peanut butter cookies.

Today, I think I will Google my fear and see if it has a phobia attached to it.

  1. Hehehe..I know of someone who has a phobia of flowers..and I have one of insects…ALL insects!!

It is a shame to have phobia of peanut butter though :/

    1. I don’t like bugs but i am ok with them except spiders. Flower phobia is interesting…is it all flowers or just certain ones? The hardest to understand would be a chocolate phobia. 🙂

  2. For starters, I love the new picture of Teddy stretched across the page so panther like. I love PBJs…they remind me of after school and football games when my mother would pack them in saran. It was the first sandwich I learned to make myself. And the smell of peanut butter and jelly still stops me in my tracks making make want one and envious of whoever had the idea first. It also reminds me of a Lucy episode when she hired Mrs. Porter the maid who made them for lunch with so much peanut butter that it more or less soldered Lucy’s mouth shut. Phobia? Nah…not from one nut to another 🙂

    1. PB&J was the first sandwich I learned to make myself, too. I remember it was Skippy peanut butter and Welsh’s grape jelly. Now I am a Jif and Smuckers kinda peep.

    1. Since I wrote this peanut butter cookies have been on my mind. Think I feel a baking time coming. Stay tuned about my phobia…I am going to write about it soon.

  3. There’s nothing better than peanut butter. I don’t understand why so many kids are allergic to peanuts these days. The actual phobia, makes me laugh. Peanut butter stuck to the roof of your mouth was some of the fun of eating it.

    1. There does seem to be more peanut allergies now. Day Care’s and church children’s programs don’t even allow peanut products in the rooms where kids are. I don’t mind if it sticks…it comes off its not like super glue! Not that I have ever had super glue in my mouth mind you.

  4. I feel sorry for people who are allergic to peanuts ~ for all the reasons you listed and more. Like Peanut Soup from the King’s Arm. Or Noodles with Peanut Sauce.

I enjoyed your ditzy dance of silly wanderings!
