The feeling of being empty never really went away. It was an unrelenting gnawing of wanting the very thing she must deny herself. Again, today, the sense of an empty abyss within surprised her in mid-afternoon. Some days she was strong and overcame her desire but this day she would give in and enjoy her favorite forbidden pleasures. Diet be damned!

  1. That diet thing takes hold of your life and your mind. As I began reading I thought of hungry for food, and then I said, “oh, just you would think of food, she’s writing about a person or a place, a situation.” Diet be dammed, indeed!

    1. The post started out on a different track but when my tummy started growling the focus changed. Maybe this is fiction based on a true story.

  2. Oooh, you are telling my story here, only I give in more days than I do not! If the road to hell is truly paved with good intentions I’ve likely paved a million miles! But I keep working at it, and one day my determination will outweigh my shameless desires! Great post for Two Shoes Tuesday, a timely topic for many of us I’m sure!

    1. This diet stuff is relatively new to me. I have been trying to lose some weight but all I have done is lose and gain the same 10 pounds over and over.
