Blog hopping…

I am blog hopping today.

The first hop is Hilary’s Feeling Beachie with help from Elizabeth at Silver’s Reviews
Follow Friday Four Fill In Fun

Four sentences with blanks to fill-in.

  1. Did you think, when you were young, that the age you are now was really old?
  2. Sometimes you really need to take a mental health day and just chill.
  3. If I were able to sing beautifully I would sing professionally…I think but maybe I would just sing for the enjoyment of it.
  4. Different ways of exercising makes it more beneficial. Or so I am told…I have no actual experience with exercising

The second hop is Rose City Reader’s
Book Beginnings On Fridays

You copy the first sentence or two in the book you are reading and give your first impressions.
The book I am reading is
anne

The Search For Anne Perry by Joanne Drayton

Meg hurried back from lunch. It was Thursday afternoon and the next day was her last in the office for two weeks. The weather was warming, and she and her partner, Pim, were going to Wales for their summer holiday.

Doesn’t tell you anything about the book.  Truthfully, it isn’t at all what I thought it would be. Anne Perry, a bestselling author of  Victorian Era detective murder mysteries, when a teenager murdered a classmate’s mother.  She spent time in prison then reinvented herself.  I am half way life  through the book and know very little about  Perry’s life other than her writing process and the long road to success.  I will finish the book this weekend only because I never give up on a book.

The third hop is from Freda’s Voice
 The Friday 56

We go to page 56 of a book and copy a sentence or two from that page.
I am using the same book The Search For Anne Perry by Joanne Drayton.

From the safety of their domestic worlds, readers could be transported to a place that was unimaginably foreign yet vividly experienced.  In the popular framework of the detective fiction genre she could also challenge readers to think about difficult and morally testing questions.

Fourth and last I am Celebrating the Small Things with Lexa Cain

I had a couple of unexpected days off this week because we were having a new computer system installed.  Since 95% of my work is done on the computer without a computer I have nothing much to do.  The weather was cold and sunny.  Beautiful and fine for a couple of walks and some window shopping. So I enjoyed the days at home.

  1. Great answers for the fill in. I remember my parents being 40 and thinking that was so very old (I would love to be 40 now)! I think mental health days should be included in employee benefits, just like sick days… and yes, sometimes I take one when I need one! Exercise is really a four-letter word in disguise… unless we count fingers, I exercise them on keyboards ten or more hours a day! 🙂

    1. I keep saying I am going to start exercising…but you know tomorrow never comes. There was a time I exercised every day and was in great shape. I sometimes get exercise DVD’s from the library. I watch them and critique them but don’t actually participate… .

    1. You would like this book. It has much about the process of writing a novel in it. More than I need to know. Although, it did make me appreciate writing little blog posts.

  2. haha, your #4 was almost what I put and then changed my mind. Love all your answers and when I was a teenager, 30 was so old and now what I wouldn’t give to be 30 again. HA.

  3. Your fill-in-the-blanks cracked me up and I agree with every one. Too bad the Ann Perry book isn’t a bit more juicy or inspiring. Days off should always be celebrated. There are too few of them! 😉

    1. The computer install has some glitches but nothing that can’t be fixed…I am told. Everything made it to the new without a problem. I finished the Anne Perry book. It got better but I didn’t like it.
