No guarantees in life…

file000205524313

There are only a couple of things about life
we know for sure, we are born and we will die.
In between anything can happen.
We will go to school and then to work…or not.
We will marry…or not.  We will have children…or not.
We will be healthy…or not.  We will be happy…or not.
Most likely we will experience some form
of all of the above.

Some of what happened in the past stays with us.
Sometimes that is good sometimes not.
Some of what happens today will end today
and some will affect the future.

We pretty much just get what we get and what we do with it is up to us.

Our life can be like a towering tree majestic in its beauty
or a messy tangled affair that never gets off the ground.
Life for most of us will be like a towering tree
with a tangle of weeds growing around it.

Life is a crazy ride, and nothing is guaranteed.”

  1. It’s nice to be able to rise above the tangles of weeds. Some of us can and some of us, not so much. Your imagery is beautiful.

    1. Those weeds can be a problem. They certainly were for me when I was young. I am learning to do some weeding now and then. It helps to keep life neater.

  2. Towering trees and tangled weeds are great metaphors for what we bring forth in our lives, Patricia! My life used to be a field of tangled briars, but in recent years I’ve started growing more tall trees, and the view from the tree tops is awesome! :-). I agree with you that we get what we get, some good and some bad comes to everyone. We have the power to turn it all into something good in the end! Even the bad tangles can be great learning experiences for future growth! Excellent deep thoughts here!

    1. I have a lot of weeds around my roots! Life is good. I didn’t always think it was but, I have learned that attitude makes problems or solves them. Thanks for your thoughts. As always so encouraging..
