Lots of blog hops today!
Here are my statement fill-ins for this weeks
Follow Friday Fill In Fun
- Did you notice that the days are already getting longer?
- Exercise is on my to-list but for some reason I never exercise.
- Since last fall I haven’t polished my toe nails.
- Would you ever hike the Appalachians Trail?
Here is my
Rose City Reader’s
Book Beginning on Fridays
The book I am reading now is Patricia Cornwell’s Flesh and Blood
the first sentence of chapter one:
Copper flashes like shards of aventurine glass on top of the old brick wall behind our house. I envision ancient pastel stucco workshops with red tile roofs along the Rio dei Vetrai canal, and fiery furnaces and blowpipes as maestros shape molten glass on marvers. Careful not to spill, I carry two espressos sweetened with agave nectar.
The Friday 56
On page 56 from the same book:
His gloved hand turns a modern satin chrome knob that is an insult to the vintage oak front door.
“It’s completely closed now but when the first responding officers got here it was ajar.” He continues to ignore my questions.
I always like Cornwell’s Scarpetta books.
The last couple were not as good as earlier ones but
with this book she seems back on her game.
And now I join
Celebrate the Small Things
I am celebrating that after a couple of weeks of feeling like I was spinning my wheels at work and getting nothing done this week was productive. I had some help and the stack of papers has dwindled down to manageable. Another week it should be gone, gone, gone.
And I am so happy that I lucked into a great sale on Skimmies. Between the 20% off and a $10.00 coupon I saved $30.00. If you don’t what Skimmies are…they are slip shorts. Great under skirts or to sleep in.
I also celebrate that the days are getting longer though it is still cold.
Spring is on the way!
