Simple things…

52 Weeks of Gratitude Challenge

The Simple Things In Life

sweet

It is so easy to take for granted the simple things in life.
When we take things for granted we are not grateful.

Thinking about this prompt made me realize I take most
of what I see, hear, feel, do and have for granted.

I take walks through my neighborhood.
It is a beautiful, picturesque, safe, quiet place to live.

Where I live there is a laundry room with several washers and dryers.
Folding the warm fresh sweet smelling clothes and linens is a delight.
Doing laundry is hardly a chore.

There is also a library in the building.
We can donate and borrow books whenever we want.
And now we have a Fitness Center where we can exercise
anytime day or night.

I always have food in my kitchen and clothes in the closet.
I have a comfy cozy home.
I have two catkids that are funny and loving.

I work part-time because I want to.
I work for and with good people.

My health is good and my body usually works as it was designed to.
I walk and talk, see and hear, think and dream, sleep and wake up.
All without thinking about it.

All simple things I take for granted. I am grateful for each and every one.
I will try to remember how blessed I am and be thankful every day not just when prompted.

  1. Hi Patricia,
Thanks for dropping in on my blog today! I have been gone a long time from blog-world, but finally decided it was time to come back.
Being grateful for what we have is such a good attitude, and so easy, sometimes, to forget. Thanks for the reminder!

    1. I have wondered where you were but then I haven’t been visiting blogs as often as I would like. Life has a way of getting in the way. You must have tons of photos to post!

  2. This is such a heartfelt, beautiful reminder. Very well written It is so easy to get caught up in the chaos of our lives. We do need to take a moment whenever possible to be thankful for all that we have. The key is making that time, because it is so important. Thank you for this post. Hug.

    1. Thanks, Annie. I am often neglectful of all the blessings in my life. Since the first of the year I have made a point to write on my calendar at least one thing I am thankful for every day.
