My Word for Wednesday this week is
Snickerdoodles are sugar cookies that are rolled in cinnamon.
I love cookies of all types andI love the name Snickerdoodle.
I think the origin of the cookie is German.
I grew up near Amish folks and they made these cookies.
I don’t know if they called them Snickerdoodles or if it is
a derivative of the German name.
Doesn’t matter they are good cookies whatever they’re called and
who wouldn’t want to try something sweet called Snickerdoodle?
There are other things that are Snickerdoodle;
milkshakes, lattes, ice cream, muffins, pies and candy are some of them.
I haven’t had any of these things, but I would be willing to try them.
There have also been candles and body washes and scents in Snickerdoodle.
These are usually sold at Christmas time.
The candles sound interesting, but I wouldn’t be interested in the others.
I just don’t like to smell like food.

I don’t mind smelling like lemons, herbs, or almond body wash.
But I don’t want to smell like a cookie.
The Amish in Sarasota make lots of Whoopie Pies!
Not sure if they make Snickerdoodles.
Really! Whoopie Pies? That sounds so un-Amish like.
The Amish LOVE to bake ~ whoopie!
🙂
My German grandmother made these cookies. I would eat them, but not want to smell like them.
I’m with you. They taste good and smell good as a cookie. But I am not a cookie and don’t want to smell like one.
What a great word! We have a chocolate and peanut bar here called Snickers!
Snickers are a favorite of mine. Reminds me of when I was a kid.
Peanut allergy here!
Bummer!
I’m with you Patricia, I grew up in PA near Lancaster County and snickerdoodles were as much a part of my childhood as chocolate chip cookies. Love, love, love snickerdoodles and the picture you posted has me drooling this morning! Perhaps Teddy would like a bath in snickerdoodle body wash!
It has been awhile since I have had snickerdoodles. I am thinking I need to fix that.I don’t think Teddy would like a bath of any sort and he would let me know of his displeasure if I tried to bathe him.
