“We have a presidential election coming up. And I think
the big problem, of course, is someone will win.”
Barry Crimmins
I know this quote is meant to be funny and give us a laugh
but given the general mood of this pre-election time
it doesn’t seem so funny to me.
We do know someone will win
and that may be a problem.

You’ve hit the nail on the head with this post! Our options terrify me and I try to understand why people would support such horrendous choices. Is this truly the best our country has to offer. Is there no one out there who would be someone we all could support and trust to take on this very important job? It not only saddens me, it is truly cause for great concern. I fear for what might come to pass.
There is surely someone out there we can support and trust but maybe they are too smart to try to buck the system and actually do their best to lead and serve the country and not just push their personal agenda.
I look at the history of past winners and see that the perfect candidate has yet to be elected. In my lifetime the presidents seem to have gotten worse, but maybe some of the ones before I was born (1951) have been idealized.

I think in the past many candidates wanted to serve now it seems they just want the title.
This really concerns me, too. As I said in my post, people make things so much worse by not sticking to the candidates and issues.
It is like the thinking is if we are confused enough the vote will be in their candidates favor.
