Friendly Fill-Ins Week 2

1. Everyone should read something every day.

2. My first job was as a hairdresser.

3. My favourite time of day is just before I go to bed because it’s when I reflect on the day and even on the not so good days I see that I have been blessed with another day of grace.

4. I think dreams are sometimes important messages cryptically given to make us search for understanding and wisdom about something we need to know whether it is in the past, present or future.

  1. It’s so nice you take the time to reflect on the day and to count your blessings. We all should do that. Have a lovely weekend!

    1. Most people think it is a fun job. It is fun but a lot of work with long hours and lots of patience needed. Those people expecting miracles can be tough. And to stay on top of things you have to keep going to classes…more time and work. But the money is very good if you build a clientele that is loyal. I did it for about twelve years then went on to other jobs.

      1. Many stylists don’t stay up on current styles at least in our area. If I see someone with a style I like (and think I can wear with my hair) I will ask where they had it cut. That’s worked several times. I had a great one but she was best with short hair. As my hair grew she kept trying to cut it very short.

        1. It takes time and money to keep up with the trends but that’s the way to make money. I think some are happy in their little shop and don’t want changes. Same with clients. Some won’t change anything, they like what they are used to.

  2. I agree with you about dreams. I have had many dreams that told me things that I needed to know.

One night several years ago, I had a dream telling me that there was an offender living in the house next door (not my current neighbors). The dream was quite insistent that I check the offender registry. I got up right then and checked it and, sure enough, there was one living next door.

My dreams told me the gender of my unborn children as well as about pregnancies other ladies were experiencing but didn’t know about yet as well as the gender of their babies. This last bit freaked them out because they didn’t even know they were pregnant yet, so how could I? They were freaked to the point that some of the church ladies started avoiding me, especially after one of them got twins. haha

It has happened many times that my dreams have brought warnings or needed information. My maternal-maternal great-grandmother was a dreamer, too.

    Have a blessed weekend!

    1. You must be very sensitive to get such things from your dreams. It is a gift to be treated with care. I have had some dreams tell me things before they happened. One was a warning I did not heed and I am truly sorry for that. I have learned to pay attention!

      1. Yes, I have always been sensitive to these types of things. The church called it the gift of discernment. It is a blessing, but brings with it a lot of pain, too. Like, for example, when I was told that my friend’s little girl had cancer. I was scared to tell her mama. I finally did, but it was too late. She died just over a year later. I live with guilt knowing that had I not been afraid to speak up sooner, she might have lived. Thankfully, her mother forgave me and doesn’t blame me. We are still friends all these years later. I work hard to not make the mistake of silence any more. Like with you, when I don’t heed the warnings, bad things happen. When I heed them, something bad might still happen, but the warning can help one to be prepared.

        1. Perhaps you were told about the little girl so you could stand with her mother and help her in the storm. Hard to know what to do sometimes.

          1. Maybe so. Yes, it is very hard to know what to do. I was afraid of looking like I was crazy.

The next time I was in a similar situation, I didn’t keep my mouth shut. I spoke up and that second friend hasn’t spoken to me since, but I know that telling her was the right thing to do. Sometimes the messenger pays for the message, too.

  3. I love your answers for 1, 3, and 4, and with #2 I learned something new and fun about you! I think if we can go to sleep every night aware of the wonderful love and grace we’ve been shown, and wake up every morning full of hope for a new day, and a desire to share that with others, then we have it just right! Well, maybe it would be extra nice if we could take naps in the middle of the day! 🙂

    1. I do believe we can learn from our dreams and be given direction. The difficult part is being patient while working through the dreams to get the right info. Easy to misunderstand if not careful.

    1. Thanks. I asked the Lord help me hear Him with dreams since so often I just don’t listen when awake. He is faithful in giving us what we need.

  4. I love your answers. I like how you worded #3, “blessed with another day of grace”. I also agree with you about #4. I do believe we can learn or gain awareness through our dreams. Thank you or being a part of Friendly Fill-Ins. I appreciate you being here. Hugs.

    1. I am enjoying your hop. Interesting statements. Have to think a bit to fill in the blanks. We are living in the day of grace and it is a blessing.

  5. I am glad you joined the friendly fill-ins today. Great answers, I agree one should read something every day. Good idea to reflect at the end of the day and find something to be thankful for- there is always something.
