Today I am Celebrating the Small Things
- Those are my new shoes. I have been wearing the same walking shoes for more than a couple of years. Considering I take a walk several times a week there’s a lot of wear and tear on my walking shoes. Today, I took a walk in my new shoes and it was amazing how good I felt. Wonder why I thought the old ones were still ok just nasty looking? New walking shoes are something to celebrate!
- My office-mate laughed at my crankiness. I don’t know why I was so cranky but I was. I celebrate the young woman who shares the office with me and her understanding of this old ditz.
- The flowers I planted a few weeks ago are thriving. I celebrate their beauty and how they make me feel happy.
So there you are my celebrations this week.

Walking is pretty much the only exercise I get. I keep telling myself I am going to get some more structured exercise but that’s all I have been doing…talking about it.
I do that a lot, too. 🙂
Congrats on the new shoes and feeling better when walking. I think I get crankier as I age. At this rate, by the time I die, I’ll be Ebenezer Scrooge and the Grinch all rolled into one. lol 😉
I think I am a nicer person now than when I was younger but sometimes my good nature takes a hike. Maybe my feet were missing their new shoes. Ebenezer and the Grinch got better…just took a little time.
I like celebrating little things. It brightens my day, especially a flower or plant. Cool shoes.
There are so many little things we take for granted that are a reason for celebration. Flowers are certainly one of those things. And new shoes!

Lovely celebrations! It is true that we so often to treat ourselves to the things we can really use and need! I rarely buy clothes or shoes, but I certainly treasure them when I do! I have young coworkers who are both really nice and make the work environment fun. They also put up with this old woman and my sometimes rather forceful ways in getting things done right! Flowers are the rainbow we can create in our own space, generating such colorful life is a wonderful sense of satisfaction!
I don’t know why I wait so long. It’s not like I spend a lot on shoes. I got these at Target on sale. Maybe we appreciate things more when we wait. All I know is my feet are happy. The young woman I share the office with could be my granddaughter. In fact, her grandmother is younger than me! She is a really hard worker and is always pleasant. Seeing colorful flowers and lush greenery does make life more satisfying. I didn’t plant much last year and I missed the pretty pots. Very glad I splurged this year!

Nothing is better than to celebrate little things especially the resilience of plants.
It is a wonder to look out and see the colors. They look happy and that makes me happy.

Yes, it was a good we even with the bits of crankiness. I laughed when I read “running shoes”. My shoes will never run they move no faster than a stroll. 🙂
