Friendly Fill-Ins week 7
- My feelings get hurt when I think someone feels sorry for me because I live alone and have no family close by.
- I am excited about doing some updating in my kitchen, hopefully soon.
- When I have decisions to make I think awhile, make a pro and con list and talk to someone first, then I usually just go with what my intuition tells me is the best thing to do.
- One time, I did something really stupid; that’s why I don’t judge other people for the choices they make.

I try to do number 3, but then end up missing some steps…
: )
As long as good decisions get made it doesn’t matter what the steps are or how many or what order. Whatever works!
I have always had the impression that you are very content with your life, and that’s what really matters, it sounds like a good life to me… you Do have family with you – Teddy and Jack! :-). A kitchen remodel sounds like fun! It is smart to check out all the options on big decisions, I’m in the process of doing that now. I could have written #4, except I’ve done more than one stupid thing in my life, I could probably fill a book with that list! It does make me more compassionate toward others in similar situations and it also gives me enough experience to offer a little advice when asked.
Yes, I am content with my lot and my family of catkids. Oh yes, I have made many many many stupid mistakes but there is the one that was really awful. I hurt myself and a lot of people with my stupidity. Fortunately, I learned a lesson I will never forget and will never repeat that mistake again. Forgiveness and mercy were given me for which I am forever thankful. Grace abounds.
I like that you make pro and con lists. That means you’re joining good sense with intuition. Good luck with updating the kitchen and have a lovely weekend! 🙂
I do make lists but I think I rely on intuition more than the lists. Seems to work for me…most of the time.
Thank you for participating in the fill-ins. I enjoyed your answers, I love pro and con lists, they really do help you see the big picture. And I love your #4, we have all done stupid things which is why no one should judge another. I want to see before and after photos of your kitchen- I love home decorating. Have a great weekend.
I should have added that there has been more than “one time” I made a stupid mistake. 😉 Don’t hold your breath on pictures. I have been planning the kitchen redo for years. Hopefully this year it will actually get done.
I lived alone off and on a lot. I never minded it, however, I prefer to have someone around.
It would be ok to live with someone if they weren’t around much or if I lived in a really big house. I like my quiet little life with my cats and people in small doses.
Updating anything, especially a kitchen, is fun, but living with the disruption is a headache.
I LIKE living alone–well, except for two cats. Sure my daughter and family are upstairs, but a lot of time I don’t see them because of everyone’s busy schedules.
I believe I make more stupid mistakes now than when I was much younger.
Who knows when the update will begin. Hopefully this year but then I have been saying that for years. Seems something always comes up and the money saved is needed elsewhere. I still make lots of mistakes but the really stupid ones were long ago.
One or two stupid one for me: sugar in the fridge sort of thing or locking my keys in a running car.
🙂
The closest that I’ve ever come to living alone was in the dorm during the summer session at USC-Columbia. I imagine that I could adapt if I had to, but I hope I never have to. I say, whatever works for you, that is what you need to do.
Have fun updating your kitchen!
Have a great weekend. 🙂
I have lived alone most of my life and can’t imagine having someone around all the time. Maybe in a big house it would be ok but not in a small condo.
There was a point in my life that I thought I would end up living alone.
Our daughter’s dorm during this summer session is like a condo/apt. that she is sharing with 3 other people, and the one in the fall, she’ll have 5 other people living with her. I can’t imagine living with that many people that aren’t my husband and kids.
You always find the best things to do, these are fun!
It is fun to do these fill-ins. Although sometimes I wonder if I need to edit myself. Some mystery is a good thing.
LOL..you call them mystery, I call them secrets! It’s all in a life of fun.
I can really relate to #3 and #4. Actually, Patricia, I can relate to the way you think about many things. I guess that is why I like you so much! Thanks for being a part of Friendly Fill-Ins; I am happy that you are. Hugs.
Thanks, Annie. We do seem to be kindred spirits. I am glad you two started up this meme. I am enjoying being a part of it and visiting others and seeing what they have to say. ((((Annie))))
