Friendly Fill-Ins Week 14
The Friendly Fill-Ins are four fun and easy statements to complete.
Ellen of 15andmeowing provides the first two statements,
the final two are provided by Annie of Mcguffy’s Reader.
- My nickname is…well, it depends on our relationship or when you first met me. If you are my family it’s PJ. If you met me before I was 40 it’s Pat. If you met me after I had my mid-life crisis of sorts there is no nickname just my name, Patricia.
- The first thing I ever won was a big box of salt water taffy. I was five or six and entered a coloring contest sponsored by a comic book company, Dell Comics(?).
- I have never been to a prom.
- Next year I hope to have completed my mission to simplify my life by seriously decluttering and giving away many unneeded possessions.

I love salt water taffy! I never went to a prom, but I have been to several military balls and even planned and carried out two. I am so sorry that I am late. Life has been complicated lately. I appreciate you being a part of Friendly Fill-Ins! Hugs!

No problem! I am over a week behind reading the blogs I follow and haven’t been commenting on the ones I have read. Just let myself get overwhelmed with life and its various ups and downs. Need to get back to simple living.
I think Patricia fits you just right! I’m thinking that salt water taffy was a pretty exciting prize at that time! I have never been to a prom either. I’m working right alongside you today clutter and the vest our house of so much extra stuff! I know how good it will feel when we finally have it done 😊
I remember getting the box of taffy. It was the first time I got a package in the mail! I must get back to work on the decluttering. I am waiting on a handyman to do some work on a closet so I can get organized there and move on to another. It does feel good to be done but I have a ways to go.
I’ve never been to prom, either – but our school didn’t actually have proms. I know, right?! I seriously need to de-clutter and reduce here, too – I still have a bunch of “movers mystery boxes” to unpack and disseminate (maybe I’ll finally find the stuff that’s missing!) from – ahem – our move 2 years ago. I have a feeling when the hubby’s on his summer break (which starts next week) that he’ll be wanting to ‘help’ me with those boxes. When he ‘helps’ he makes more work…heh!!!
Nicknames, #Winning, Never Been, and Next Year – Friendly Fill-Ins for Friday Fun
When I moved here I put a couple of boxes in the closet and about five years later I wondered what was in them! Most of the stuff got tossed but there were some photos I kept…they are in another box somewhere now. 🙂
Patricia, has the mid-life crisis passed? If not then let’s see if we can help you feel better by callign you PJ because that sounds fun and youthful, which is bound to make you feel not-so mid-life again, right? I like that nickname! It’s really cute!! Proms are over-rated, but if you’ve never been then you’ll always wonder. Maybe, it’s not too late for you to go. 🙂 Have a good week, PJ! 🙂
The mid-life crisis is long gone. I need to clarify about Patricia though. In my mid-life crisis I realized I have always liked my given name,Patricia, and wanted to use it instead of Pat. I began by changing my business cards and telling new people I met that my name is Patricia. People pre-crisis still call me Pat and I have stopped correcting them and let them slide but new peeps it’s Patricia. You can call me PJ if you want that nickname is ok.
I’ve never been to a prom either. I desperately need to do #4. Hope you have a great week!
It never really bothered me about the prom thing. I was out and on my own at 17 and school was not part of my life. Other people seem to think I should be sad about it…but I am not. #4 is a challenge but I will not give up!
Cheers to number 4—You can do it!
I have started and it is going to be a challenge. Once it’s done the challenge will to not shop!
Thank you for participating in the fill-ins. I would love to do # 4 too, but I can’t get my hubby on board so I still live with too much stuff. Have a great weekend!
I have only myself to contend with and that is enough! 😼
