FFI and Celebrate…

Friendly Fill-Ins Week 23

1. It is good to have a spare ten dollars is my first thought, a roll of toilet paper my second, and a clean pair of panties my third.

2. I don’t understand why horror stories and films are so popular. I like a good scary mystery book or movie but no ghouls or gore.

3. The spookiest thing that ever happened to me was the times I knew that it was the last time I would see someone because they would die. This has happened several times, it is more sad than spooky.

4. My favourite Halloween tale is none that I can think of.

And now on to
Celebrate The Small Things

This week I am thankful for
1. The new news about the bad news of a couple of weeks ago.
The bad news is not as bad as first thought. \O/
2. As bad as I was feeling last night and this morning
this evening I feel fine.
3. A neighbor is going to help me fix the keyless door lock that I broke
trying to change the battery.
4. The great video that Annie at McGuffey’s Reader shared
Cat Watching Horror Movie

  1. I don’t know how I missed responding to your post Friday. I’m sorry about that!

I agree that it is very sad to know it is the last time. I remember the last time that I saw my grandma alive. As we were leaving the nursing home where her daughter had put her on her 76th birthday, I turned to David and said, “She won’t last the month.” She was put in there on April 2 and died April 18th, a day that I was going to go to visit with her, but didn’t because I was up all night doing laundry and yapping with a neighbor and was too tired to make the 45 mile trip. 😦 I think when we left South Carolina, I knew I’d never see my daddy again this side of Heaven. Mama’s still kickin’ it, so there’s still a chance I will see her again before she passes on.

Your three spare things are very practical and make a lot of sense. I’m glad that you’re feeling better and that the news wasn’t as bad as it seemed initially. Have a blessed day!

      1. I understand completely. I don’t think that I’ll ever be caught up. Sometimes there’s nothing one can do other than a mass delete and start fresh. Otherwise, it gets to be overwhelming.

I like how you put that, “pretty practical…except when I am not.” 🙂

        Have a blessed week!

  2. I am thankful for your not so bad news, and that you are feeling better! We have a keyless door lock and we love it, so nice when you have your hands full of things to carry in the house! I am glad you have helpful neighbors!

    1. I am very happy that the bad news isn’t as bad as first thought. We get more info next week. Yeah, I feel better but do have a doctor appt scheduled. :-/

  3. I think that three spare items you want to have all make good sense! I use a debit card so sometimes find myself with only a few dollars cash, which isn’t always so handy! I am not a big fan of horror stories or movies, real life is full of enough scary things without seeing them as entertainment!
The only times I felt certain it would be the last time I would see someone was with my grandmother and then my father, and both times it made my heart so very sad. I think that is something maybe I’d rather not know!

    1. I use a debit card, too. I think I spend more money using it and should probably go back to like in the old days of cash only. Life does have lots of scary stuff…one of the reasons I don’t watch the news. I would never sleep peacefully. I learned that during the Viet Nam war.

  4. OMG! That cat video was hilarious! I’m still giggling over here! And I guess it was “Psycho” from the one piece of dialog. Yeah, that scene freaks me out too! lol Yay that your bad news isn’t so bad, and that you’ll get help fixing the lock. Have a lovely weekend!.

    1. The video is a classic I think. I had a cat that liked watching car races. Sometimes he would run around to the back of the tv to try and catch the cars. The weekend is great. Finally out of the 90 and 80 degree weather.

  5. I am so glad you liked that video! It reminds me of George. He does stuff like that all the time! He is such a funny little Dude.
I like suspense and mystery, but not horror. I agree with you there.
I am glad your news is better. Prayers and hugs.

    1. I am very glad the news is better! We will have the details in a couple of weeks. It is fun to see the different personalities of cats. No two are alike.

  6. It would be so sad to know you’re seeing someone for the last time. I agree with a spare toilet paper roll.I always like to make we have a stash of TP. I too don’t enjoy horror movies but love mystery novels!

  7. I can see that it would be sad to see someone and know that that was the last time you would see them alive. I felt that way when I was in the ambulance with my father. I thought, “My father is going to die today.” Not a great feeling. Have a great weekend.

  8. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, nice answers. It is sad to know you are seeing someone for the last time. I am not a horror movie fan either. I love that video Annie posted of the cat watching a horror video. Have a nice weekend!
