Today I am Celebrating the Small Things
After months of thinking about it, seeking advice, going back and forth about what to do, and being a bit crazed I have made my decision. Can’t tell you what it is just yet
but after New Years I will.
I am almost done with Christmas shopping. I don’t do anything major in the way of gifts, just little thought gifts. Usually, I make something but this year I did not. I might make cookies or something, though.
The bit of holiday decorating I do is done.
I am ready for the holiday and it isn’t even the week of the big day.

Looking forward to your news, Patricia. Congrats on almost finishing the gift-buying/doing. I’ve decided not to do gifting this year. Just no money for it. Have a wonderful week!
I have had lean years when my gift giving was limited to calls and notes. I think those are really the best gifts, just being in touch means so much.
I agree.. I get happy with just Christmas cards 🙂
I am excited to hear about your news! I hope it is something that will make you very happy. You are really on the ball with Christmas projects. I am just getting the lights done on our little tree tree today, and the furkids are eagerly waiting to play with ornaments they can reach! We do very little shopping either, and very little baking anymore, maybe some cookies to send to my kids. I think Christmas can be just as nice and even nicer with out so much commotion and spending. Now you are ready to enjoy the music and colored lights and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas!
I get Christmas busy stuff done early so I can stop thinking about it! I will do some baking for some folks in the building and I’ll take something to work one day for break times. I remember when I had trees when Henry and Dolly were around. Henry was good but Dolly liked to get in the tree to nap. Not a good thing! Years ago I had a cat, Kitzy, who ate tinsel. They way I found out was one day he walked past me and had tinsel trailing out his butt. Fortunately, he didn’t get sick or need a vet but the tinsel was taken off the tree never to be seen again.
Can’t wait to hear your news in the upcoming year. (I’m very curious 🙂 ). Cookies are always wonderful treats and make good presents too. We’re backing away from large presents this year too. It’s not the size but more the thought behind things which are really special.
You are right about gifts. Just being remembered with a card or call is often the greatest gift of all.
I think cookies go over well on the holidays. I’ll be waiting to hear your news, and I hope you have a great weekend!
Cookies are good anytime for any reason. Hope your weekend was relaxing and enjoyable.
You’re miles ahead of me. Good for you. ❤ 🙂
I keep the holiday so simple it’s practically nonexistent.
Your blog looks ready for the holidays. I like it.
I am about as ready as I am going to get. Glad you like the festive look.
I will celebrate your celebration! I look forward to your news in the new year, too. ❤
The more the merrier!
