Write a story or poem of 5 Lines or Less
using the word give.
As he stood by the graveside he remembered a day in May long ago. It was her special day and he wanted to give her something wonderful. After much thought, he knew exactly what it would be. That May when he was five years old (and every year after that) he gave his first love a bouquet of flowers. He still loved her and today broken-hearted he again had flowers to give her on Mother’s Day.

I miss my mom too, Mother’s Day is always bittersweet, good memories, but what we wouldn’t give for just one day to spend together! Someday we will, I believe that! ❤
I have so much I want to ask and tell my Ma, one day wouldn’t do it for me. Good thing eternity is like longer than forever.
Five lines that touch the heart. Filled with emotion and love, Patricia.
Thanks, Pix. Mother’s Day always makes me reflective. I miss my Ma!
Beautiful and touching, Patricia.
Thank you, Francie.
Bittersweet. You shared a truly heartfelt story. The feelings are deep here. Thank you. I felt this. Hugs.
(I will share on Monday.)
Thanks, Annie.
Great prompt and beautiful story! I’ll “give” it a try: Ask me one reason / To defend the words I write. / I’ll give you nothing.
Quick Reflection: I guess it’s because I don’t need a reason to write–I just love it–pure joy! So glad I found your site–keep these prompts coming:)
Good haiku. I am glad you added it here. There is a new word every Wednesday. Hope you join in again.
Touching!
Thank you.
