She had been in the convent for a while and felt she was ready to take her first vows, but before she did that she left for two weeks to be in the world to be certain of her vocation. She was staying with her family and on Saturday afternoon her cousin invited her to go to the Ice Cream Shoppe in town for sundaes. While there she met a handsome young man and fell in love. She never went back to the convent. A few weeks later she and the handsome young man stood before the priest and said their vows to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.
