Today at the BrewNSpew Cafe
we are challenged to write a poem using the word,
a person who is opposed to increased industrialization or new technology.
Synonyms – a broken record, anorak, bore
Here’s my poem;
I have blogs, one is Patricia’s Place
the other is Day of Grace
So, to technology, I am not opposed
as perhaps some may have supposed
Though I have no cable or satellite
I watch TV most every night
You see, I do have WIFI connection
for the computer, telephone, and television
Set in my ways I may be
Luddite no one can call me
I hope every night as I yawn
to see what’s new at dawn

We may not be young, but we know a good idea when we see it! How different our lives would be if we shunned internet and wifi, and so much poorer for the loss!
I would miss the internet and wifi but I sure would get a lot more done!
Me too! 😊
Learned a new word, thanks for that and the poem.
Thank you for reading and commenting!
Very well done and Eugenia thought so too as she featured your post on her blog.
You and I are much alike where technology is concerned.
Have a fabulous day. ♥
Thank you, Sandee.
You taught me a new word. And another fine poem for your fine collection. I just heard Whitman sigh. 🙂
Glad you like my poem but if Whitman is sighing it’s because he sees how much I have to learn.
He would love you. I just know it. Sometimes I think I see him up ahead, his gray hair streaming in the wind. A book under his arm. Look for him. Maybe he’ll come a callin’. Poets have been known to stick together. Like a flock of creative geese b✍🏻
Yes… and the internet has made it easier to find something new.
True and handy but it’s not always a good thing.
Reblogged this on BrewNSpew.
How fun and this has great rhythm and rhyme, Patricia! Great job on using the word and thank you for joining in!
Thank you for the prompt and the encouragement of your comment.
Isn’t she the finest poet? I’m always so impressed.
