“Common sense and a sense of humor are the same thing,
moving at different speeds.
A sense of humor is just common sense dancing.”
William James
This makes sense to me. Think about it; common sense will tell you that a lot of what happens isn’t all that serious. If something is serious a sense of humor helps you get through it with your sanity in check.
In today’s world there are a lot of very serious things happening or could happen at any moment. Common sense recognizes this fact but doesn’t allow it to be the only focus in life.
We can spend our time analyzing every aspect of every thing that comes our way or we can look at things and use common sense to decide what we need to study and think about in depth and what we can do. If we can do something, great, if we can’t we might as well dance.
Yes we might as well dance, worrying adds nothing to a situation.
It’s better to dance ,worry is a time-waster for sure!
Yes indeed 🙂
We really need to lighten up since life’s short, and things that you’ll forget about in a heartbeat, were not all that important in the first place.
I have a God box where I write down all my problems then turn them over to him. Every once in a while I’ll go through my little what Anne Lamott calls, beggy prayers, and most of them are either answered or no longer anything I’m concerned over. Common sense tells me all is well, if I stay where my feet are. Did that make sense…common sense??? 🙂
Love this! Prayers are always answered one way or another. Yes, you make sense…common sense!
A great quote indeed. Love the kitty too and I linked this post to Awww Mondays.
Have a fabulous day and week. ♥
Thanks, Sandee!
Great quote!
I thought so. It made me ponder.
Lovely thought!
Thank you, Chris. Sorry for the delay in responding to your comment. I just found it in my spam file.
I like it!
That makes me happy!
😀
An interesting perspective.
Interesting is good, yes?
Yes, for me a sense of humor is as important as common sense otherwise life is very dreary.
I laugh at most things even when I probably shouldn’t. There’s always something in there that causes a smirk.
Oh, I have the same problem. People get offended sometimes.
We’re in good company. The writer Kurt Vonnegut did it too.
😄😁😆
That’s for sure!
