“No matter what accomplishments you make
somebody helps you.”
Wilma Rudolph
How true. Think about it. Of the things you have accomplished how many did you do without any help? Probably not a one. There were helpers whether or not you acknowledged them or even knew them.
In your life, there are family members, teachers, coaches, friends, acquaintances, neighbors, students, clergy,…the list is endless. You probably know most of those who helped you achieve the things you wanted to do, be, have, make, or happen. But there are many who are in the background. People who wrote or did something that inspired you and gave you the tools and courage to try something new and different. They may be close or distant or even no longer in this world but they were there for you on your journey.
Maybe it’s time to acknowledge your helpers.
Say thank you to those you know…and don’t know.
Look for where you can be of help to others.
Share your blessings.

I’m grateful to an English teacher I had in high school who favored me, thinking I was smart. A big deal after having a mother who on a regular basis, begged to differ.
I also thank writers who influence me. Those mentors on the page. You’re one, like I said to Eugenia. Your prose is so fresh and clean. Teachers lurk. Even Bud and Lou, those Irish Setters I gushed about, remind me to lighten up and have a little fun.
Loved this Patricia, ad usual. Susannah
Yes, teachers come in all guises. You never know when one will pop up. Thank you for the kind words, my friend, you are always so encouraging.
You are always so inspiring…:)
Excellent advice. When you think about it there were many people along the way that helped. Thank you for the reminder.
I agree, Patricia being one with her spare, beautiful language reminding me to prune mine which sometimes flourishes out of hand.
It’s okay, Susannah – we each have our own style.
This is certainly true.
If only I was better at following my advice!😼
I can relate to that – truly!
A beautiful thought!
Thank you!
You’re welcome 😉
Some years ago I wrote to school teachers I admired, those that were still alive. I enjoyed it, and they did, too.
That’s so you. What a nice thing to do. Really. People just don’t do that sort of thing these days.
I probably wouldn’t do it now, either. Snail mail is not for me. The teachers are all dead now, though one lived to be a hundred.
That was a wonderful thing to do. Too late for me to follow your example but there were a few really good teachers among the mediocre that deserved a note of appreciation.
Excellent advice. We all need to say thank you more and those that are there to help us along the way needs to always be thanked.
Awww on the kitties. They go purfectly with your words.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Patricia. ♥
The picture is of Teddy and Jack in a rare moment of Teddy being a nice big brother.
Good advice! None of us succeeds by ourselves, and we do need reminded of that – thanks!
Thank you for visiting!
