Monday musings…

Your worst enemy cannot harm you as much as
your own unguarded thoughts.
Buddha

I believe we become what we think about ourselves.

Think negative thoughts and you will be unhappy, downtrodden, lonely, and weak. You will find yourself alone, with only casual acquaintances who cannot or will not help you when you need support. Think positive thoughts and and you will be uplifted, encouraged, loved, and strong. There will always be true friends who care about you and they will be there for you when and where you need them.

We all have times that are not the best of times and we are not at our best, the super-negatives. And we all have our times of elation when we are beyond over the rainbow, the ultra-positives. Those times are just part of life. Happenings that come along once in a while. Those times come and go.

We all have good and bad things that happen. Over time, how we respond and react to those things will determine who and what we become. Some people will become a Scrooge and some will become a Pollyanna. But if you put some thought, time, and effort into how you think you won’t be an over the top pain in the butt, you will just be the very best that you can be.

So, what’ll it be?
Scrooge or Pollyanna?
The best You?

  1. This is all very true, but alas…easier said than done, for me at least. I’ve been staying at the Pity City Hotel as of late, and really need to check out since, it’s sure not the Ritz.

I like when I can pull off Pollyanna since, we like her so, but sometimes that Ebenezer sneaks in for a cameo. We shall regroup, and take your Monday musings to heart. Excuse me while I pack my suitcase and go pay my bill. 🙂

    1. We all visit that hotel now and then, but it should only be for a night and no more. You will feel better sleeping at home in your own comfy bed.

  2. Hubby and I are happy. There are rough spots here and there, but we’re happy with our lives. We worked hard to make sure our golden years were the best they could be and so far we’re enjoying our golden years.

Have a fabulous day and week, Patricia. ♥

    1. It does take hard work to get to the place where you are happy and enjoy life. Too many think a good life is always easy-peasy.
It has been a good day and I am having lunch tomorrow with a friend I haven’t seen in a couple of months. The week is starting out great!
