I have a good reason for why today’s post is later than usual.

I am not a the greatest computer user around. I am not the worst but there are times the computer is, shall we say , a challenge. Today it has been a challenge. I use an app when I write. Or I used to use it. Not long ago it stopped working when I write a blog post. It works fine on comments but not when I write a post.
So, I contacted the app’s customer service. They got back to me right away with what to do and they would help me fix the problem. I was happy to hear from them so quickly but the instructions they sent me were complicated! At least to me, I guess they are simple to techie wizards. I texted again and told them duh…huh? They texted back and “clarified” the instructions. Well, sort of. I went to where I was told to go on my computer and started the process.
But there was a big warning thingie that had all kinds of warnings and exclamation points about making any changes there. Kinda scary. Actually, very scary! I thought about doing what they told me to do. They are the experts and wouldn’t tell me to do something that would destroy my computer, right? Most likely I just don’t understand the instructions. But I do understand that when something is too complicated for me comprehend it is better to leave well enough alone
So, where does that leave me? With no editing help here except when I make comments. Oh, I will continue to write. I will just plod along with my English knowledge as a high school dropout. Things might not be perfect but you know how I feel about perfection. If you don’t, read Monday musings that I wrote July 5.

I spend my life in cyber hell, since all my work now is online. I just opened an Instagram account upon request since, clients apparently like to see them. It tool me three days to get it running and two therapy sessions to stop berating myself for my cyber ineptness. And I cried out of sheer frustration. Did I mention that?

Sorry, you have had such a hard time with computer stuff. I know how trying it can be. I still haven’t figured out what to do to solve my problem. But I will write with or without editing help. 😼 What work are you doing online? Are you no longer modeling?
Yes, but because of Covid there are no in person appointments. You have to send everything online…pictures of yourself, sometimes audio tapes. It’s a nightmare. In any event, we try our best…to quote our girl Maya… “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”
I so get this. Sometimes what they want us to do is way over our heads. I wouldn’t do something with all those warning either. If you have a computer person you deal with take your app to them. They often can fix anything.

I don’t have a computer person. Anything I know I have learned on my own, and I have always been able to do want I want on the computer. I have one more thing to try. If that doesn’t work, maybe I will try to find another app for editing help.
Computereeze can be most confusing, IMO. If I get confused, I research it myself. Usually, I go to C-net or there will be a forum somewhere that has a suggestion on how to resolve.
I am confused enough. I have one more thing I am going to try. If it works, great, if not, oh well. Even without help, my posts will still be understood.
The tech support needs its own support, something simple and easy to understand. I hope the issue can be resolved soon Patricia.
With so many non-techie people using computers, it does seem computer terms could be made simpler. I think I am going to try something else to work around the problem. If it doesn’t work, I will just post what I write, correct or incorrect. It will still be understandable, just not proper English.
Yes, there should be simpler terms and ways to correct the glitches not of our making. Don’t worry about posting the perfect posts, we all make mistakes

Hard to imagine it could be more confusing.
Even if you do understand the terminology it is still complicated for everyone, too much so!
It does seem there would be info more understandable to the casual user. As my Gramma used to say, “They can put a man on the moon but they can’t….”
