Whoever said “Out of sight, out of mind”
never had a spider disappear in their bedroom.

I have never liked spiders. Never have and never will. I will even admit that I am afraid of them. I know it is silly to be frightened by them, but I am. Have been since I was a child.
They are so sneaky. And when one knows I have seen it, it thinks it’s fun to torment me. It hurries up a wall to the ceiling or under the sofa or worse, under the bed. Any place I can’t get to it.
There is no way I can relax if I know one is wandering around in my home. I become a madwoman until I squish it. In general, any bug that enters my abode does so as a death wish. But spiders have always been the worst, until recently.
There are a lot of cicadas this year, and they seem to like my balcony. Teddy has taken a liking to them. That’s okay, except he brings them inside. Like spiders, they are good at finding places difficult for me to get to them. Unlike spiders they are noisy so it’s easy to know where they are. But they fly! Not always away from me sometimes, right at me.
Teddy thinks it is great fun.
I can hardly wait for cold weather!
I don’t want either one in my home. You can add ants into that.
Have a fabulous day, Patrica. ♥
That sounds just like our Dad, he can’t sleep if he knows there is a spider in the house!
I got a few laughs from your post. Once I see a spider or other creepy crawler running up the wall or across the floor, I’m after it with something to smack it with. Of course, we have Callie and she’s great at finding them before we do.
This made me laugh, your remark after the quote. Boy, do I know how that feels seeing something dart across the room. At least you have Teddy and Jack to patrol. I always call the super in hysterics. Also, I can’t kill anything without great remorse, so that’s a problem too. On the occasion I actually catch a water bug, he gets humbly flushed figuring, a water bug must be the Mark Spitz of insects.
Really loved this.
I don’t like insects in my homes either but as long as it’s not a lizard or a flying cockroach, I wouldn’t hunt them down.
I join you in your hatred and fear of spiders.
A spider drops on me (via a web) in the car while it was moving. I brushed it and didn’t see where it went. It was a very uncomfortable ride. Still don’t know where it is! Maybe in the car. Maybe in my clothes.
