What is a cause you’re passionate about and why?

There are causes that I care about and give them money. If I had to choose one, I would say homeless and hungry children. It is hard to see anyone living on the street without access to food and necessities, especially kids.
Many kids leave their homes because of abuse, or there is no longer a home where they are wanted. Younger children are often placed in a children’s home or with foster parents. Teenagers too often take to the streets on their own, doing the best they can to survive.
It is heartbreaking to hear the stories of these kids living by their wits on the streets. They are too often taken advantage of by awful people who use them for their own ugly interests.
I give to a charity that focuses on these kids.
And I pray.

I see so many young homeless people on the street. Even yesterday, when I ran out from my warm apartment to do an errand in such extreme cold, they were still on the corners wrapped in blankets asking for alms. The police can’t make them go to a shelter. So they occupy a grating with some heat coming up if they’re lucky. If not just freeze. You wonder, what happened here. It wasn’t always that way, but being an abuse survivor know, you have to really be strong to save yourself from unfortunate beginnings. Hope this wasn’t too sad.
I too admire you for caring.
🙏
It is sad. Life is often hard and unfair. I have never been hungry, homeless, or abused, and I can’t imagine having to survive such things. It takes incredible strength and courage to face such challenges. I am not sure I have what it would take.
You’d be surprised what hidden strength you have Patricia. God gives it to all of us. Like me, you’d activate yours in a state of grace. A hunch. 🙂
It’s heartbreaking to see homeless people, specially kids. Great cause too contribute to.
It does hurt to see homeless people, and it is too easy to look away.
I know! 🥲
Well said ❤️
Very good cause, indeed.
Sad that it is a cause. Everyone is meant to have a place that is warm and safe with food and people who care.
That is a good cause, nobody should have to go hungry.
Amen to that!
