“What do you do with a mistake;
recognize it, admit it, learn from it,
forget it.”
Dean Smith

We all make mistakes. Some are just little blips, and some are major screw-ups. What we do with our mistakes determines who and what we are. If we don’t face our mistakes and learn from them, we will keep making them.
Mistakes and errors in judgment happen, but they don’t make us failures. When we face our mistakes and do what we can to correct them, we become better people.
I learned this the hard way…with experience.
The hardest thing for me to forget and forgive are my mistakes so thanks for this.
It often takes repeatedly forgetting and forgiving to get where we need to be. But it is worth the effort. Keep on keepin’ on!
It’s hard to forget them, but we do need to face up to mistakes and not make them again. Many never admit to mistakes and they make them over and over.
I linked this post to Ass Monday. Love that cat.
Have a fabulous week, Patricia. ♥
You are right. If we don’t own up to our mistakes, they will multiply. And we will be miserable.
Lessons. They’re all around us and yes, if we don’t learn them, they’ll be comin’ round that mountain again until we do. Mistakes are how we finally get it right.
Love the brevity of this since it says so much in so few words. 🙂
Some lessons are hard to learn. I sure wish it wasn’t so!
Me too. But here’s the good news, once we learn, that’s it. Off it goes like an unwanted guest who finally hit the road. 🙂
😊
We all make mistakes. I think of them as life lessons and hopefully, I will learn from them.
They can be life lessons. The hard part is owning up to them.
Mistake can be a good teacher if you are a receptive student. Thanks for this reminder Patricia 💙
We do have to acknowledge the mistakes we make before we can learn the lesson.
Love this quote. Thanks for sharing your wisdom.
The wisdom in this post is all in the quote…I just added my two cents.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
We do all of those and in that order too!
Y’all are wise ones.
