It’s finally going to happen!
The work is almost done!
The repairs and restoration work on the building is almost done. Another week or so and the workers will pack up and go on to their next job. I must say they have been wonderful. It has been hot and humid the whole time and they have worked eight hours a day every day.
The building looks so good! I am sure property values will go up as will the interest in living here. It doesn’t look like a tired old folks home anymore. Now we need to take care of some interior issues, painting and flooring, new furniture for the lobby.
I have lived here twenty-six years and this is the first that any exterior work, other than repairs, has been done on the building. The interior has had work done but it has been a while and needs to be addressed; painting, new lobby furnishings, repairs to ceilings, and new flooring.
Not sure when the interior will be taken care of. Hopefully, in the not too distant future. Everything is so expensive and nobody wants another assessment but upkeep is part of owning property.
I am happy to call this home.

That sounds wonderful. One learns, you must stay on top of things or they get out of hand. I’m happy for your spanking new surroundings. 🙂
That’s for sure! The hardest part is getting everyone to agree on what’s to be done, who to hire, and how much to spend. Three sides of the building are done. Hopefully, the fourth will be completed in a week or two.
Like my late great friend Jackie liked to say…in order to make the perfect omelet, you have to break a few eggs. 🙂

Great news that the workers were on the job every day, not flitting to other jobs!
They have been dependable. Although they didn’t work today. 90% rain was predicted and it’s Friday so maybe that’s why they took the day off.
Friday and rain in the forecast! That’s a winning day for the workers!

It does feel good! Everything will be done in the next two weeks…if the weather cooperates.

That’s great! I love projects that you can see and appreciate (a roof is one of those things you have to do but you don’t look at it much!)
The stuff that needs to be done, but isn’t seen, is more important than the cosmetics so it gets done first! The finishing touches that are being done now make the wait worthwhile.
Must need a relief.
The weekend will be quiet and restful in preparation for next week’s work finale.
