Well, here we are at Z the last letter of the alphabet and the end of this year’s A to Z Challenge. For me, the challenge started out as it always does all zippy and full of energy. It’s fun to find a theme and then to figure out what to write within that theme. Because I tend to get distracted and off theme, I make a point to choose a rather loose open theme so I can play with it.

Once we get past the half way mark my energy sometimes loses some of its zip. But I plunder and plod on with good and bad days. Mostly good days. Then the last week is upon us and my zippy energy really loses its zingy zestfulness and my energy becomes more of a zephyr breeze that wafts and flutters like soft sighs.

When March comes along next year I will be all zappy zingy zippy again and ready for April and another A to Z Challenge. Until then I will enjoy the whiffs of air that faintly breeze by my computer like a lovely zephyr.

The way I see it…A challenge of any kind is good
but the best have a definite beginning and end.

The way I See It

There is nothing like a really good yawn. One with stretching of arms and legs, turning of the head and shoulder shrugging. Of course, a big aah inhale and a nice long exhale with an extended ooh added for emphasis is imperative.  Sometimes you have to stifle a yawn to be polite. When this happens the yawn is completely useless; there is no sense of satisfaction or fulfillment just a feeling of imperfection and failure and the obsession to yawn again.

When you are tired and yawn it helps you relax and get comfy for a nice slipping into sleep. I think even dreams are better when they are preceded with an all out yawn before going to sleep.

If you are bored a big yawn fills your lungs with fresh air and that takes some of the tired boredom out of your brain. It also tells whoever is doing the boring (and sometimes it is yourself) to move on with whatever it is they are trying to do. If they (or yourself) don’t take the not so subtle hint the yawn will resurface. A yawn will not be denied the completion of its assignment and will continue to pop up until it is successful in its mission.

The way I see it…yawns are meant to be enjoyed completely and without inhibitions.

X can signify many things. It can indicate an error or that something is unidentified, it can be used as a symbol of a kiss or where something is located. On a ballot or test, it shows our choice or answer and it can be used as a signature of someone who cannot write.  X on a street or traffic sign tells us that something is crossing at this place and caution is necessary.

The way I see it…X means I am xing off today’s A to Z letter
which is X and my post is done.

Some people think crying is a sign of weakness and do their best to never cry. But tears are important. They cleanse and restore red, sore, tired eyes. Without tears, we would not see clearly. Tears also help our bodies deal with the injuries we experience. When we are in pain tears help relax our muscles and ease the pain. Tears also help when our hearts hurt.

When we are sad, grieving a loss, disappointed, depressed, ill, angry, or weary we need to weep. Children know this inherently and cry easily when their hearts hurt. Sadly, they learn to restrain their tears and become adults who have forgotten the easing of hurt that tears bring to the heart and do their best not to cry.

Yes, there needs to be some self-control of our weeping but to not ever cry is not healthy. We need the release and cleansing of tears to heal our hurting hearts. I do not like to cry in public or when anyone is around and do my best not to…I have learned my lessons well it seems. But when alone I weep letting the tears flow free and furious and find it restores me and I can face the world again with a calm and peaceful attitude.

The way I see it…it is important to weep and sometimes
ya just gotta let go and wail!

The Way I See It

Have you noticed that when music is loud or a room is noisy people talk faster and when they talk faster they move faster? There have been studies on this. Don’t ask me who did the studies because I only remember reading about the studies but not who did them or where they were done. Anyway, because I read about the studies I have on occasion done my own quasi-studies of the phenomenon of volume and velocity and agree with the professionals.

The places that have benefitted most from the professional studies are stores and restaurants. It has been proven that when the music is turned up in restaurants people talk and eat faster and don’t linger at the table. When they eat faster and don’t linger it allows the restaurant to seat and serve more people. In stores when the music is loud people tend to look at the merchandise more quickly and make their selections faster and tend to make more impulse purchases. So, volume and velocity mean more business and more money spent which means more profits and we all know that’s what makes the world go round.

While pondering this I got to wondering if I were to turn the music up loud in my apartment if I would move faster and get more done. After pondering awhile I decided not to test the theory because I don’t like loud music; it makes me cranky and that is not a good thing. Besides no one pays me to do anything in my apartment so there are no profits and therefore no chance for greater profits.

The way I see it… there is no reason for me to change the volume and velocity of my life. I am quite happy quietly and slowly doing very little.

The Way I See It

https://www.pexels.com/photo/tuxedo-cat-on-a-brown-wooden-table-while-licking-paws-107971/

I am an intelligent person and I have good common sense. I can read directions and instructions for most things and understand them. I have put together desks and bookcases. I can sew and crochet. I can cook and bake. I can program a digital clock, and rewire a lamp. All these things I have done successfully by reading the instructions. I am not afraid to do something I haven’t done before if I have instructions.

However, when the first words in a manual say user-friendly I become slightly nauseous, begin to break out in itchy red welts and know a migraine is soon to invade my brain. Some synonyms for user-friendly are; untroublesome, uncomplicated, convenient, and foolproof. What they don’t tell you is that the user-friendly manual has been written by someone whose first language is not English. They are fluent in Techspeak. English is my first language, actually my only language, and I have no knowledge of Techspeak.

The way I see it…user-friendly is an oxymoron and false advertising. Products that are user-friendly should have an address for a ten-year-old included in the package so adults can have the instructions interpreted by them. Better yet, they should include the ten-year-old in the packaging.
