Tuesday, the reveal…

I know y’all have been anxiously awaiting pictures of my kitchen.
(If you happen to remember that I had some work done.)

Love the sink and faucet.  Big improvement.  I am very happy.

So there you have it.  But I am not done!  Since I have found
my new and wonderful handyman I have another thing to do.
Well, said handyman will do it but it is my plan/design thingie.

Thursday, spoiled and lovin’ it…

Early this week I received a package from a friend in Texas.  It is the softest crocheted lap robe! It is going to be great to keep my cold tootsies warm.  The air conditioning makes them like ice while the rest of me is fine.  Go figure.  But now they will be perfectly cozy.  As you can see Teddy thinks it’s pretty cozy, too.

 

Wednesday I got my taxes done.  What a bother and a chore.  I don’t know why I think it is a chore when all I do is take the papers from the “tax” file and deliver them to the “tax” man and when he is done I go sign the forms and pay him.  He does all the work.  But then I do pay him–that is not fun–but getting the refund will be.  So that is done for this year \O/

Yesterday I had a birthday surprise from a friend.  Homemade truffles!  The best homemade truffles!  And yes, I did share–a few.  Also, got an orchid.  The goal is for it to be alive for my next birthday.  At least I know it will/has lasted longer than the truffles.  Teddy even got into the gift thing–he got toys.

 Then in the evening another friend took me out to dinner.  We went to one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants.  The food was great and the time with my friend even better.

 And I gotta tell you Mounds Bar Pie is a pretty good way to finish a meal.

All in all this has been a very good birthday-week!

Today, I am thankful for gifts from my friends but even more I am thankful for their friendship.  I am one spoiled woman…and I love it!

Tuesday, a parade and pigeons…

Hi Peoples,

Mama and I were on the balcony Saturday morning and there was all this music and talking and laughing coming from the street.

Of course, I had to see what was going on down there.

IMAG0090It was lots of peoples walking down the street–in the middle of the street.  I’m not even allowed on the outside of the balcony!

Mama said it was a parade–a St Patrick’s Day parade.

IMAG0081I don’t know who this guy St Patrick is but he must be a fun sort of people.  Mama says there is a lot of partying done on his day.  I bet I would love a party.

This is Minnie Mouse.  Whoa! She is a BIG mouse.  I thought they were all little things but she is way bigger then me.  She is cute but intimidating.

As you can see Mama is not the best with a camera but she has good intentions.

IMAG0093The parade was nice and all but it was getting a teeny bit boring UNTIL—-these HUGE balls showed up.

Ooooh, I wanted to be down there sooo bad!  Just think of the fun I could have with those…I could have batted them all over that street.  Maybe all the way to where the party was.

IMAG0094But then on the other side of the balcony I could hear this cooing sound.  And you know what that means–pigeons!  So I just had to go look.

I had to get as close as I could to the balcony next door but one floor down.

Mama about had a dog!

So that was that for our morning on the balcony.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

OK here goes:

7 things about me

  1. I took typing in school and got an A but that was so long ago there weren’t computers and we used typewriters…I can’t remember if they were manual or electric
  2. I type using 2 sometimes 3 fingers–so much for the A in typing
  3. I often eat cookies for breakfast
  4. I often eat cookies for lunch
  5. I don’t eat cookies for supper but do sometimes have them for dessert after supper
  6. Sometimes I take off my bifocals to read
  7. I like my hair messy which is a good thing because that’s what it is most of the time

As you may have noticed, or not, I skipped one of the 3 things I am to make a list of 7.  I am skipping this one because I am a rule-breaker–sometimes.
