Friday, phobias that fascinate me…

Do you know there are people with a fear
of developing a phobia?
Well, there are…they are

It seems there are phobias about everything.

I had a phobia…I probably still have a bit of it.
Sometimes it rears its ugly phobia head and I am a mess.
But I have learned to get past it…most of the time.
It took a lot of work to overcome it or overcome it for the most part anyway.

So, I can understand someone having a phobia even really strange ones like,

Phronemophobia; the fear of thinking.

This would be horrible.
How does one not think?

I wonder how one gets over phronemophobia?
I mean, really, you have to think to work through it.

Today, I think phronemophobia is not one I will worry about…I love to think.

Tuesday, good habits bad habits…

Here is something I don’t understand.
Well, there is a lot I don’t understand but for now
I will focus on one thing.

Why are good habits so hard to establish and bad habits so easily made routine?
Why are good habits so easy to let go of and bad habits so hard to remove?
Why are we so often reminded about our bad habits and rarely told about our good habits?
Why do good habits seem so dull and bad habits so fun?

Today, I think I will never understand.

Friday, I need to be enlightened…

I watched a movie last night.

This one

The blurb about it says a troubled man becomes involved with a cult.
Good actors that I like.
Sounded interesting to this old hippie person.

Well, I watched the whole thing.
Every second of the 2 hours and 17 minutes.

I have no idea what the film was about.
Not a clue.

If anyone has seen this movie and got it please enlighten me.

Tuesday, what or who that is the question…

Children are asked what they want to be when they grow up…

Not who they want to be?

Teenagers are asked what they want to do with their life…

Not who they want to be in life?

Young adults are asked what are their long term goals…

Not how will you become who you want to be?

Older adults are asked what are their retirement plans…

Not how did you become who you are?

The elderly are asked was their life what they wanted it to be…

Not are you who you wanted to be when you grew up?

Today, I think maybe some of the problems we have as people are because, from the beginning, we ask the wrong questions.

Monday, playing tag…

There is a new game in blogland and I was invited to play by Judith at I choose how to spend my life it’s called Tag You’re It.

The rules are to tag back to who tagged you, answer 10 questions that are Mrs. Sparkly’s Ten Commandments  (I don’t know Mrs. Sparkly but if you visit Judith she will point you on your way to meeting her) and tag 5 other bloggers.

So here goes:

1) Describe yourself in 7 words

Bookworm, Daydreamer, Funny, Intelligent, Mama-cat, Night-owl, Quiet

Maybe I cheated with the hyphens but sometimes I break rules.

2) What keeps you up at night?

Mostly reading, but I really am a night-owl so I don’t like to give up and go to sleep.

3) Whom would you like to be?

When I was young I would have had a different answer but with age I have found I like me and have no desire to be anyone else.

4) What are you wearing now?

Nasty navy knit pants–you know the kind, too short, baggy knees and butt–turtleneck tee shirt and my Storehouse navy long sleeve polo and 2 pairs of socks.

5)What scares you?

The thought of being seriously mentally ill, the kind that hurts you and everyone you love.

6) What are the worst and best things about blogging?

The worst is spending too much time on the computer writing and reading.  The best is the writing and reading.

7) What is the last website you looked at?

I think it was Judith’s so I could get the link.  If that doesn’t count, well, I don’t remember.

8) If you could change 1 thing about yourself what would it be?

I would be more outgoing and friendly.  Is that 2 things?  Darn another broken rule.

9) Slankets yes or no?

I would say no, I like my afghans.

10) Tell us something about the person who tagged you.

Judith has a dog, Lottie, and they take walks around the beautiful place where they live and sometimes share pictures, that’s how I know it’s beautiful.  She’s lived in a lot of places.

Okay, first part done.  Now to tag 5 bloggers.

1) How the cookie crumbles

2) Wazeau’s World

3)I’ve been thinking about…

4)In the process of living

5)One Wild and Precious Life

Today, I think I am done playing for now.

Monday, whine,etc…

So here goes a bit of a whine…

There are some blogs that when I want to “like” the post I have to fill out a little form thingie.  Grrrr. I cannot do this.  I try but it doesn’t work for me.  I am challenged by unnecessary “paperwork”.

All I want to do is let the blogger know that I like what they wrote…I may not have a great, interesting, pithy, wise, funny, or helpful thing to say…I just want them to know I stopped by and liked what I read!

So fellow bloggers I understand the need to foil the spammers of the world in comments but do they spam the like button?  Really, do they?

And…something else that is bugging me…

For some unknown reason when a post of mine is emailed to a subscriber…you know who you are…the first paragraph of the post is not showing up on the email.  I have no idea why and so far none of the helpers at WP forums know why either.

The WP helpers are a great bunch of folks and I have bugged them many times since I have been on WP and have always had my issues resolved.  I am optimistic about this glitchie thingie…they will help me find an answer.  Either that or this is no answer.  There are people that think I am impossible.

Anyway…if you subscribe by email and read the post on your email and don’t come here to read you aren’t getting the first paragraph. You probably think I am one of those people who start conversations in the middle…I had a roommate that did that…drove me crazy.  So for your sanity read the blog here not there.  It looks nicer here anyway.

You know technology is a wonderful thing, sort of, if you know what you are doing.

Today, I think I am not only impossible I am confused and cranky.
