Lost in Translation’s Thursday’s Special
the prompt this week is
Traces of the Past

chairThis is my gramma’s rocker.
It was given to her by my grandfather when she was pregnant with my mother.
Gramma rocked her children and her grandchildren in this chair.
When she died it was given to my mother who rocked her grandchildren in it.
When my mother died the chair became mine.
I have rocked all my catkids in it.
This year the chair is 99 years old.
It will always be “Gramma’s rocker”.

Breaking rules…

Lost in Translation’s Thursday’s Special
prompt this week

Breaking The Rules

cactus

This is my Christmas cactus breaking the rules blooming in the Spring.
I am all for any bit of rebellion that is beautiful and brings a smile.
It is not a total rebel though, it only has one flower;
a big beautiful flower that makes me smile.

Abstract…

Lost in Translation’s Thursday’s Special
guest challenger Suzanne at Art and Life has this prompt for us

ABSTRACT

My entry is maybe a bit of a cheat as it is not really an abstract photo.
It is a photo of a mixed media abstract painting I have in my guest room.
It was one of the first things I bought for my condo twenty years ago.

IMAG0639

It seems every time I look at it I see something different.
Often what I see depends on my mood
or what is happening in my life.

I am sorry I don’t know who the artist is so I cannot
give credit where credit is due.
If anyone does know email me and I will acknowledge him/her here.

Teddy and cold, Thursday’s Special

Lost in Translation’s Thursday’s Special
prompt is

COLD

teddysnow

This was Teddy’s introduction to snow.
He had no idea what to make of it.
He liked it for about 10 minutes then he was done with it.
Not the best picture but it makes me smile to remember Teddy in the snow.
