It is not unusual to be hot and humid here where I live. Lately the temperatures and humidity have been in the high 90’s. We expect to be uncomfortable when out and about and depend on air conditioning to keep us cool. We also know that with this weather, there are rain storms, bad storms that cause damage, often with flooding and loss of electricity. Sometimes there is damage in the building where I live, but rarely anything major.
We also have earthquake tremors. Usually, the quake is so slight we don’t even know there has been any activity. But, last week two earthquakes midweek were felt and heard. The first one in the morning, I didn’t notice, but some folks in the building did. The second was in the afternoon, and I did feel the tremor and heard the rumble. Thankfully, there was no damage reported.
The storms bother me and the cats more than the tremors.
Is that weird?

Autumn is finally here! I thought it would never make an appearance, but it has and beautifully. I have walked for several days, and I feel so good. Walking is indeed good medicine.
Well, good except for the fall allergy showing up. Usually, it is on its way back to wherever it comes from around this time. But it didn’t show up until last week, so I guess it will be with me for a few weeks. I will try not to complain about the coughing, sneezing, runny nose mess because it is so pleasant outside.
Anyway, putting aside the allergy stuff, I do feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally. I don’t remember being so affected by the weather in the past. It might be an age thing, but I am going with climate change as the reason.
Since Fall didn’t get here until late October,
I wonder when winter will show up.
The weather is the weather.

Yesterday it rained all day. Not a nasty kind of rain, a nice rain. It was cool, but with no wind, just lots of low grey clouds and rain. It was a good day for looking out the window and daydreaming. I didn’t complain about the weather. Really, what good would that do other than to make me cranky?
And for some unknown reason it made me want to get something off my to-do list. So, that’s what I did. I went through piles of papers that needed to be sorted. Some papers were trash and to the trash they went. But there were a lot of papers that need to be kept and they got filed. I really don’t know why most of them must be kept, but I have been told to keep them and so I do. Anyway, that meant the files needed to be sorted through. And I did it! The “clean up papers and files” on the to-do list is done and scratched off. You know that feels good!
But back to the weather. Weather is what it is. No point in complaining about it. Last summer I complained everyday about the heat and humidity. Did it change anything? No. Well, it did change my usual easy going happy self into someone I didn’t like. Most of the summer was miserable, not because of the weather but because of my attitude. So, I have decided that like my files, my attitude will be clean and neat, with the worthless thrown out and the needed stuff kept. I may need a reminder of this in July and August.

It is just too hot to do much of anything.
Even writing a blog post seems to be a problem.
Teddy agrees!
The sun is shining and it is not windy and freezing.
The guys installing the new balconies are back to work.
If it is too cold the epoxy used with the screws is ineffective.
Definitely, want the railings to be secure.
If it’s too windy they can’t work because it isn’t safe for the installers.
Certainly, want them to be safe and secure.
The cats are not happy about the noise.
Especially Teddy.
He just wants it done.
It’s hard to nap with all the noise.
Jack’s okay.
Not exactly happy but putting up with it.
So, today I am celebrating
the good weather and working conditions,
the guys working and doing a good job,
and my sweet catkids.
