Celebrate the Small Things · Friendly Fill-Ins · whatever!

A day late is on time…

I am a day late with this week’s
Friendly Fill-Ins and Celebrating the Small Things,
but in my world these days it counts as on time.
So, here goes.

Friendly Fill-Ins Week 20

  1. The last movie I saw at the theater was so long ago I have no idea what it was!

2. The title of my autobiography would be  Crazy  Complexities, Complications, and Confusions. I think that describes my life quite well.

3. I would love to learn how to refinish/reupholster furniture…I think, but then maybe not.      See #2.

4. I am glad that I learned to crochet because it is relaxing while doing something      productive, I make gifts for friends and sometimes for people I don’t know, and it keeps    me off the streets and out of the bars.

Celebrating the Small Things

This week I celebrate:

  • The weather is changing and I am so ready for cooler temps.
  • I finished one of two gifts that are needed next month.
  • I got through the day at work though I wanted to go home because I felt awful and thought I would feel better at home. As it was I got sicker when I got home but that is ok…it’s always better to be worse at home. 🙂
  • Today I feel fine.

All in all, it was a pretty good week!

Attitude and perspective…

“Sometimes when things are falling apart,
they may actually be falling into place.”
Unknown

Often life is difficult, everything seems to be wrong and bad, nothing right.  We ask pasque-flower-1354478_640ourselves why is this happening to me? How could I have prevented this awful thing? There is nothing I can do!  Our attitude is completely negative and we begin to feel sorry for ourselves. We look at life with the perspective of tunnel vision rather than a panoramic view. We wonder why there is no sunshine only clouds.  We feel like troubles are raining down and we fear we will drown.

Perhaps we are meant to see these times not as wrong or bad but as times of change. Yes, change is often difficult and frightening.  Sometimes change seems overwhelming. We may feel incompetent and inadequate, unable to meet life’s challenges. However, if we cancommon-pasque-flower-1347971_640 see these troubles raining down on us not to drown us but to prepare us for the good that is to come then we can overcome the fear and move forward. Forward, out of the dark clouds and rain into the sunshine and blue skies.  Forward, out of fear and doubt into contentment and peace of mind.

What Teddy is expecting…

IMAG0511

you have to listen to me, jack.
i know we don’t always get along–like never really.
but this bit of advice is for your own good.

i have been here longer than you and i know mama better than you.
when there are computer issues it’s not a good thing
and right now there are computer issues
that doesn’t mean a thing to you, but i know what it means.

we can expect to see a side of mama that isn’t pretty.

i’m not sure if she is headed for a melt-down or a blow-up…
…i just hope she doesn’t expire.
either way get ready to run for cover.

i’m telling you, jack, it ain’t lookin good.
