Describe the happiest day of your life.

This is a hard one to answer. I have had a lot of happy days, too many to even remember all of them. But I think one of the happiest was when I was done with school. I didn’t graduate, I just left as soon as it was legal at age sixteen. I was miserable in school. Loved the learning part but hated the rest of it. I did fine without a high school diploma working in retail until I retired.

I have to say retirement has been the best time of my life!

Do you have a memory that’s linked to a smell?

I have thought about this all day and all I can think of is my mother. She had a distinct smell about her that was all her own. It wasn’t her perfume or the soap she used. It was just her personal fragrance. I haven’t smelled it in a long time, she took it with her when she died. I miss her fragrant presence.

1/13 If you had a billion US dollars, how would you spend it?
I don’t think I could spend it because
the shock of having that much money would kill me.

1/14 What is your preferred mode of travel?
I am a homebody extraordinaire and don’t travel,
but if I had to probably by car if not too far or plane if a long distance.

1/15 What fear have you conquered?
When I was a teenager and in my early twenties I was borderline agoraphobic.
It was awful and it took some work to overcome it.

What chore do you find the most challenging to do?

I don’t like doing chores. it is a challenge for me to do any of them.
But vacuuming and mopping the floors is the one chore I put off for as long as I can!
Oh, I vacuum at least once a week, but to get down and dirty
moving the furniture and mopping, not so often.
I do mop the kitchen floor every few days because
the cats aren’t the neatest when eating.
With three cats there are a lot of hairballs flying around.
Anybody with allergies or asthma best stay away.

My mother always said a house only has to be clean enough
to be healthy…anything more was foolish.
And to remember that nobody eats off the floor.

How do you define success?

The dictionary defines success as…

the favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors; the accomplishment of one’s goals.
the attainment of wealth, position, honors, or the like.
a performance or achievement that is marked by success, as by the attainment of honors
a person or thing that has had success, as measured by the attainment of goals, wealth, etc.

I define success as…

Doing your best in all your endeavors
Knowing your strengths and weaknesses
Being available when needed
Giving what you have to those in need
And most importantly,
Loving others even if you don’t like them
