I am celebrating that I am finally at my goal weight.
Took almost a year to lose 25 pounds but I did it!  \O/

Friday stuff…

Hilary at Feeling Beachie and Patricia at A Season And A Time
came up with his weeks Friday Fill-Ins
and here’s my two cents worth.

  1. I don’t like a messy disorganized office.
  2. A messy disorganized office makes me not a nice worker bee
  3. It’s a challenge for me to talk to people I don’t know.
  4. My favorite time to sleep is after I turn off the alarm.IMAG00211.jpg

And now on to
Celebrate The Small Things

Still too hot but not in the upper 90’s so I took walks longer than a couple of blocks.
It has been weeks since I have had a good long walk of an hour or so.
I look forward to getting back into the routine.
Why is easier to get out of the routine than it is to get back into it?

I have the best friends always willing to help me out
and this week was no different.

A co-workers kids came to work with her today.
To have something to do her son made us rubber band bracelets.
So cute.

Celebrating a statement…

Ellen at 15 and Meowing
provide all four statements with blanks to fill in this week
for Hilary’s Feeling Beachie Fill In blog hop.

  • I hate going to the dentist because I feel trapped and that scares me.
  • I want more muscle and less fat.
  • I have regifted nothing from anyone who ever gave me anything.
  • Real sugar is the secret to really good sweet ice tea.

Today, I Celebrate the Small Things

exercat

I am working on the more muscle and less fat thing.
I won’t say I am working hard, but I am doing a bit of exercising
which is a lot more than I was doing.
I am celebrating that we have a small fitness center here where I live
that makes it more convenient and harder to find an excuse not to exercise.
Although, I am pretty good at procrastinating.

In Other Words (Quotes) · life · someone said

And God laughed…

Patricia2

When I was a very little girl I wanted to be Tinkerbelle or Annie Oakley.
God laughed and said,
Silly child, you can only be who you are.

When I was a child I wanted to be a dancer on Broadway.
God laughed and said,
“Have fun, but a dancer is not who you are.”

When I was a teenager, I wanted to be free.
God laughed and said,
“You will be free when you know who you are.”

When I was a young woman I wanted to undo my mistakes.
God laughed and said,
“Learn from them they are part of making you who you are.”

When I was a woman in my thirties I wanted to be pain-free.
God laughed and said,
“Without the pain you cannot be who you are.”

As an older woman, I want to write to touch people,
to encourage and support them and yes, to make them laugh.
God laughed and said,
“Well then, be a blogger, that’s who you are.”.

52 Weeks of Gratitude · life

Catching up…

I have been a real slacker with my posting of the
52 Weeks of Gratitude Challenge
Not because I am not grateful but because
I tend to put things off.  It’s called procrastination.
But today I am going to catch up!

turtle

  • Week 18  The Weather

I am grateful for the diversity of the weather.
It changes from season to season and sometimes from day to day.
Sometimes it rains on my parade but that’s ok…I have an umbrella.

  • Week 19   Health

I am basically a pretty healthy person.
I do have a couple of challenges that sometimes flare,
but they are not life-threatening.they just get in the way sometimes.
I am grateful for the good days and for the bad that keep me humble.

  • Week 20   A Friend

I have a friend, Lucy.
I really have a hard time expressing all she means to me.
She is a treasure in my heart who I love beyond words
She is my friend and sister in faith.
I thank God daily for her friendship and love.

  • Week 21   Things You Like About Summer

Summer isn’t my favorite time of the year, but it is a beautiful time.
I am grateful for the longer daylight hours, the blooming flowers,
the fresh fruit and vegetables and slower pace of life.

  • Week 22    Something You Use Every Day

I am grateful for my brain.
I use it every day and it never really fails me.
It works just like it is supposed to keeping all systems in order and working.
Sometimes there is a glitch but it rights itself quickly.

  • Week 23    Favorite Physical Trait

I don’t think I have a favorite physical trait.
If pushed to pick something I guess it would be my skin.
It is a bit sensitive but with few wrinkles and rarely a blemish.
Yeah, I am grateful that my skin looks younger than my years.

So there you have it. All caught up.
Yay!

Intent and action and me…

Today I am linking to
Two Shoes Tuesday
Yes, it is Thursday.
I tried for Tuesday, but it just didn’t happen.
the prompts this week are
intent–action

I looked up the two words to help decide what to write
and while doing so I learned something about myself.
Not really something new but after looking at the words
how I live and work and my strengths and weaknesses are clear.

  • Intent: noun; object, plan, goal
Intent: adj; determined, attentive, concentrating, committed, resolute

Yes, that’s me, for sure.

  • Action: noun; acting, doing, execution, effect, influence, process,

Yes, that’s me, sort of.

Let me explain.

Intent

thinkI like and I am good at objectives, having a plan and goal,
I can think it through and find a way to make it happen.
I can concentrate and be attentive to the details,
but I sometimes lose sight of the big picture.
I am determined to get it done!

Action

noworkI can effectively influence others and motivate them.
I can explain how the plan will be executed and the process involved,
I am a thinker and planner and motivator but not a good worker bee.
The actual doing of the plan is best left to others.

I am more of a thinker than a doer.
But things do get done when I am around.
