This week’s prompt for
In Other Words
“Though the road’s been rocky, it sure feels good to be me.”
Bob Marley
In my youth, my road was quite rocky sometimes filled with boulders.
No one to blame, I chose the road.
Then when a bit older the road wasn’t smooth, but there was more
gravel than boulders along the way.
There was a time when the road seemed to be covered with gooey tar.
I just kept getting bogged down and stuck in the muck.
Slowly things got smoother and mostly easy travelling.
The road has never been a straightaway, there have been a lot of twists and turns,
but nowadays it is more winding and filled with gentle curves.
There is the occasional roadblock or detour but for the most part
the road is clear with just some pebbles now and then.
Like Bob Marley, I am happy being me.
