Thursday, thoughts…

The last two days have been somewhat frustrating. Nothing major or earth-shattering, but a pain in the butt stuff. You know what I mean. Things that need to be done, and that need someone who knows how to do them. Fortunately, I know a dandy handyman I can call.

#1 to do was to fix the garbage disposal. Seems it can’t be fixed and I need a new one. It has been broken for months and I have gotten along fine without it so I will remain disposal-less.

#2 thing. One day the dishwasher made a clunking noise and stopped working. Dandy Handy doesn’t fix dishwashers, he suggested I get a new one. It’s just me and the cats, so not a lot of dishes need to be washed, but I will be getting a new dishwasher. I don’t know when but it will be in the not-too-distant future.

#3 thing. The screen door on my balcony needed to be replaced. Dandy Handy came and measured, then went to Lowes to get the door. A couple of hours later, he came back and installed the door. Easy-peasy! But the piece of molding he got to replace the damaged one under the door wasn’t right, so he had to go back to Lowes and get the right thing. Of course, by then it was late afternoon, so he said he would be back tomorrow, which is now today.

He said he would be here in the morning, and he was. It was 11:30 when he got here, so officially still morning. He glued the molding down and put bricks on it to make sure it would stay in place until the glue dries. He will come tomorrow to get the bricks and to get paid for the work.

I like Dandy Handy, and I am always happy with the work he does.
But I hope I don’t need his help again for a while.

  1. Minutia can really take it out of you. I understand when you need things fixed and tended to. I find the quicker they get done, the less painful they are.

    1. It’s just a bother to have to wait on others to get things done. But some things require help, and I am grateful some folks know how to do them.

  2. You are lucky to have found a good handy dandy. Else it is such a challenge to get things done.
Hoping you won’t be needing his services for a long time now.
Have a good day Patricia ❤️

    1. It is wonderful to have someone who is dependable, and good at what they do. There are two handyman guys that work in the building often.

  3. We had new shades installed today. We were first on the list. I was expecting someone at 9. They got here at 11:30 so I wasted my morning. Good your have a handyman though. They are hard to come by.

    1. Doesn’t it drive you crazy waiting around?! You would think that they would let you know if they are going to be delayed.

  4. It’s a good thing to have a handy dandy. We have many of those.

Have a fabulous day, Patricia. Big hug. ♥

  5. It’s great you have a Handy Dandy, the good ones are hard to find here. Oh, there’s lots of them but they rarely show up and if they do they say they will come back and you never hear from them again.

    1. Yes, Handy Dandy’s are needed! I have two I can call on. Sometimes it is a bit of a wait because they are both busy, but the work does get done.
